Children’s services

Here in Rochdale, we are passionately committed to supporting and encouraging our children and young people to achieve their full potential. They are the future of our borough.

That is why we are dedicated to making our borough a great place for them to grow up, get on and live well, and for it to be a place where children and young people of all backgrounds and abilities feel safe, healthy, happy and heard.

Our children’s services play a pivotal role in achieving this vision by safeguarding and championing the welfare and aspirations of the borough’s children and young people. They also help to intervene and provide the right support and guidance at the most appropriate time, to ensure everyone receives the right help when they need it.

We are responsible for a vast amount of this activity across the borough, with our services playing an actively important role in people’s lives. From high-quality support and development opportunities in our local family hub settings to the prevention of unnecessary escalation of need, we are here for our residents.

Our nurturing role in local education also prepares our borough’s next generation for the future, while we also work to protect and safeguard the welfare of children and young people.

Together our services are building the future of our borough and it’s truly exciting to play our part in supporting the people that will write the next chapter in our local history.
